Lighting
Color Temperature
Clear- Can appear very bright, but it produces glare and reflections due to its short wavelengths and prolonged use can cause eye strain.
Amber- Penetrates dust, fog, rain and snow with minimal reflection, thanks to its long wavelengths, but it can impair the ability of our eyes to discern color.
Units
Lumens- The total amount of light generated
Candela- The candela is a measurement of the total light generated and focused in one particular direction
Lux- Is the light measured in 1 square meter of output area or in other words how bright a surface will appear
Lens
The lens affects the light dispersion.
For example, identical LEDs will always have the same Lumen output, however the Candela and Lux values will be significantly higher when using a spotlight lens
Zones
Lighting zones are guidelines designed to simplify the light selection process.
